The school offers a linguistic curriculum of English and Kiswahili which are compulsory subjects in the main curriculum. The department is crucial in the implementation of the formal curriculum as English is the medium of instruction in all the subjects except Kiswahili.
The performance of the two subjects has been commendable with English registering a positive improvement over the years that has seen it top the school in the academic year 2008 with a mean grade of 6.9 and Kiswahili maintaining a stable performance both in the school
It is therefore true to state that the girls have developed the right attitude towards the languages, mother tongue and sheng interference notwithstanding. Credit goes to the commitment of the language teachers who have also portrayed a lot of team work, cooperation and consultative approach in handling the two crucial subjects. The school management has been loyal in providing the necessary teaching resources, that ensures that the students course book rating is two to one, exposing the staff to the in service courses and enabling the students to watch set-book plays in the school for exposure and confidence.
However, there is room for improvement with the students independently expected to develop a culture of reading and analyzing the text to cope with the ever challenging exam questions especially in literature and Fasihi.
